These cross-cultural, civilian/military references nod to the tailor shops of the Vietnam war era - employed to make the unofficial uniforms for the civilian irregular defence group (CIDG), and who refashioned U.S. uniforms from Vietnamese tigerstripe cloth for the special forces.
