This monk coat merges a U.S. Army parka with eastern aesthetics, the overlap front opening resembling the robes worn by the buddhist monks of Tibet.

The Maha Fine Tailor Co produced uniforms for the Civilian Irregular Defence Group; a US government scheme to enrol minority populations
as support units to the army. Their unofficial uniforms usually combined traditional dress with U.S. Army fabrics. These cross-cultural collaborations reached further afield as the Tailor shop expanded into Tibet.

Cotton Sateen · 100% Cotton

1960’s era U.S. Army cotton sateen twill, reproduced exclusively for Maharishi. Used in AW21 to reproduce the uniforms worn by the U.S. Navy Riverine and helicopter support units, as well as for Eastern utility wear of the Civilian Regular Defence Group.
